Southern California Confraternity Congress
January 13, 14, 15, 1967
International Hotel (LAX area)
Los Angeles, CATheme:
From the words of Pope XXIII in his opening address to the Council comes the theme for this Congress ...
"The greatest concern of the Ecumenical Council is this: that the sacred deposit of Christian doctrine should be guarded and taught more efficaciously."
From these words the decrees of Vatican II have formulated for Christians everywhere certain duties: to learn, to live and to share more fully the message of salvation.
The Southern California Confraternity Congress hopes to provide an atmosphere of Christian unity and learning where all who attend may advance scholastically and spiritually for the benefit of each and the common good of all.

In 1957, the event doubled in size and was held at Bishop Conaty Catholic Girls High School.
In subsequent years attendance continued to increase and the event moved to Loyola University.
By 1962 the institute drew over 4,000 attendees and was held at Immaculate Heart College.
