Best principles of trauma-informed ministry will be presented as they relate to disclosures of traumatic experience in sacramental preparation, retreats and abuse prevention programs. Practical concerns and strategies for responding to a disclosure will be addressed with the goals of preventing re-traumatization and connecting with the appropriate resources while accompanying that person in their desire to be closer to God.
