2-06 Inspiring Young Changemakers: Justice and Service in Youth Ministry
Susan Searle
Whether through social media, ‘hashtag’ activism, blogging, or volunteering in their communities, youth of all ages are discovering their ability to take action, promote justice issues, and create real change. How might the church actively listen to their insights, support their efforts, and inspire youth to be faithful leaders for justice? Let’s explore why youth are eager to participate in experiences of meaningful service and why our ministries should provide them. This session will provide ways to transform ministries from just activities and learning into ministries of justice and service that empowers young people to live their faith. Learn and share practical suggestions for moving beyond just doing service projects to making justice something that is a part of all youth ministry efforts.
