3-07 Laying a Solid Foundation: Preparing Your Parish for the OCIA

In the near future, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults will replace our current RCIA ritual text. Participants in this workshop will begin to consider how this revised text will provide an opportunity for full parish renewal and transformation. During this session, you will receive a practical 1-, 2-, and 3-year strategic plan that will have the capability of bringing your parishioners and clergy to a fuller understanding and appreciation of the life-changing power of this rite.

Michael Ruzicki is the Director of Sacred Music and Liturgy at St. Mary of the Lake and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Chicago and is the Training and Events Manager at Liturgy Training Publications. He is the author of Guide for Training Initiation Ministers: An Introduction to the RCIA (LTP, 2018) and a former team member of the North American Forum on the Catechumenate. He currently leads both LTP’s Catechumen initiativse and serves as the emcee and conference coordinator for the National Gathering on Christian Initiation.
