7-02 Building Christian Communities Strong Enough to Last a Thousand Years
Paula Huston, OblSB
Building and sustaining community in these challenging times can feel not just daunting but impossible. We long to connect on a deep level with other people of faith but struggle with interpersonal conflicts, resistance to change, and a very real generation gap. Monastic wisdom, acquired over generations of trying to live a blessed and fruitful communal life no matter what the circumstances, offers practical guidance for how we can become more agile, resilient, and loving examples of Christian koinonia.
Paula Huston has been a Camaldolese Benedictine oblate for over twenty years. A National Endowment of the Arts Fellow in Creative Writing, she is the author of two novels and eight books on the spiritual life, including, 'The Hermits of Big Sur". She currently serves as co-director of New Camaldoli Hermitage's oblate formation program.
