Sr. Carol Dempsey, OP, Ph.D.

Carol J. Dempsey, OP, Ph.D., is Professor of Theology (Biblical Studies) at the
University of Portland, OR, USA. Her research focuses on Prophets, biblical
hermeneutics, especially feminist hermeneutics, literary and cultural
methodologies, gender studies, and ecology. Author and editor of 18 books, her
latest works appear in the Jerome Biblical Commentary for the 21 st Century (2022).
She is working on two contracted book manuscripts and two contracted edited
volumes. Carol is the current Vice President and President Elect of the Catholic
Biblical Association of America.
