When Jesus is being questioned by Pontius Pilate, the Roman procurator asks: "What is truth?" In these days of challenge and suffering, most of us have wrestled with this same question: where is truth in a world seemingly adrift? Where is truth in the midst of the pain we are enduring in this time of COVID and death? The answers to these questions lie in the fact that truth is the only sure foundation for hope. And hope is the understanding that God stands with us at moments of our greatest suffering and loss and will always find a way to accompany us even in the darkness.
